Mental illness is a physical illness of the brain that causes disturbance in thinking, behavior, energy or emotion that makes it difficult to cope with the ordinary demands of life.
Research uncovers the complicated causes of these illnesses which can include genetics, brain chemistry, brain structure, experiencing trauma and having other medical conditions, like heart disease.

There are a number of medication-free & budget- friendly options available should you find yourself needing some coping mechanisms when feeling stressed.
1) Maintain a daily routine as much as possible – get up, get dressed and create a to-do list.
2) Take care of your body – Doing physical activity helps to loosen the joints and relax the mind, while building strength. Go for a walk or a jog, eat healthier and stick to physical exercise which works for you and that you find enjoyable.
3) Take time to do the things you enjoy on your own or with those around you. Share a slice cake and keep a positive mood to stay away from

Raising mental awareness can help you to understand your symptoms, find professional treatment, and perhaps most importantly, break the mental health stigma that leaves so many people suffering in secret.
